Green acres is the place for me
Farm livin’ is the life for me.
Land spreadin’ out so far and wide
Keep Manhattan, just give me that countryside.
I braved the heat again. Swam through the muggy air across to the apple tree. Took a picture or two. Came back inside. Played with the camera some more (color accent feature, can you see it?) Turned apples into pie. Yum.
And it does too make sense to bake something in a hot oven on a hot day.

MMMMMMMM Apple pie.
I was threatening to make one too!
We’ve got some summer apples from the CSA that Are kind of tart. Good pie apples I’m thinking.
Did I ever tell you about the time I took my sister to Manhattan for the first time? (She still lives in Arkansas.) We stepped out of Penn Station and she pointed to Macy’s and squealed with delight only to hear the guy on the street behind us start singing “green acres”. I nearly fell over laughing right there on the sidewalk.
I LOVE the City!
The pie was awesome, you should make one. Great story, I would have just died laughing!
That color accent feature is awesome. I love apple pie, but chose to go the Mixed Berry route while the blueberries are in season. Almost all pie is good.
All our berries are sadly gone, so I had to go apple
Yum! What a delicious way to get your fruit. I am not crazy about pie crust (making it or eating it) but I feel a crumble coming on…
I am not a big fan of pie crust either. My favorite is the nectarine crisp I made last month. I miss the nectarines and peaches!
Mmmh… Apple Pie!
Happy WW!
Mine is up at Tricotine
Thanks Isabelle. you have always been here for me, commenting. I really appreciate it!
