I paint the canvas of life
With colors rich and pure
Sometimes my strokes unsure and slow
The edges of existence bleeding and blurring
Other times my brush is keen and swift
My creation crisp and straight
The pondering of what will be revealed next
Is the force that keeps the image alive
This is lovely. It reminds me a little of a poem I posted on Thursday in what it says. http://ravensviews.blogspot.com/2008/05/poems-of-week.html
You say it much more succinctly than I did.
This is a wonderful image of life as a creative process. Thanks, Vixen.
Isn’t always the “pondering of what will be revealed next” that keeps each of us writing? I think that sometimes the blurred bleeding images speak of truth just as strongly as the clear ones.
This is so well written vixen. Capturing the different elements of life’s phases. Like how you’ve incorporated ‘bleeding’ into the poem as well. Thanks..
I like line containing bleeding. Very well done..
ravages of time
That’s beautiful!
Superb, I love the imagry the words evoke darling. Clapping for this one.
This was a very interesting and well written take on the prompt. I am enjoying reading the different ways that writers are interpreting my prompt suggestion.
Glad I stopped by.
Ooh, I like that. And although it’s about a paint brush, that’s the way I feel sometimes when I’m taking pictures – sometimes I’m focused, sometimes I’m not quite so focused.
At least, that’s what I take from it, but you know I pretty much suck at poetry and symbolism :-0
Lovely poem! Such a good job! Perfect for the prompt! Thank you!
Great job! So well done.
Linda
Thanks for your comment. They sure are bleeding us dry:

I really like the rhythm of this piece.
I too love the thought of life being a canvas we paint our experiences on. Lovely writing!
..this is a poem where mystique and melancholy meet..thank u..
Sandy suggested a book to me: Seven Life Lessons of Chaos, and your poem just resonates with me because you do what I am trying to learn how to do: to accept the chaos of creation and to accept the lack of control. I have only read two chapters but that is what I am learning, using math!
I love your poem. It reinforces things I need to learn.
Very cool take on the prompt. I love where this took you.
Wonderful poem. Exciting things happen when we go outside the lines sometimes.
..it is a beautiful poem
I didn’t take the paint brush literally; but more what our mind’s eyes see as we travel through this life.
