Just How Did 22 Years Pass So Quickly?

My son has always loved camping. See:
Unfortunately, we haven’t been able to go in several years. So when he told me all he wanted for his birthday present was to go camping, I knew I better get cooking! So today I share my Recipe for a MacDougal Birthday (his birthday is TODAY!)
(be sure to click on the pictures to embiggen so you can truly appreciate mine and Bear’s photographic talent):
Take some tents (poles ARE required, if you forget them you must go back home and fetch them)
Add a large dollop of family
Stir well with horseshoes
Sparingly sprinkle in some mountain climbing (careful-don’t overdo)
Slowly add ice cold liquid until you get your desired consistency
Top with some relaxing and fireside comradery
This recipe has been tested and approved by the Birthday Boy MacDougal and his mother

Great recipe Vixen! We used to camp, too and we did an amazing roadtrip several years ago to Mt. Rushmore, Yellowstone, Grand Tetons and Glacier National…what memories! Hope he had a great day!

I just love the recipe, it is so unique and so much family-oriented and fun. I love being outside too, hmmm, that is a great way to celebrate birthday! Great pics, love the tent picture the most, I guess, I miss home

Ooh, camping is so much fun. My friends and I used to tent out in a park near our campus in the spring and it was great.

I don’t know where the last 22 years went either. But I didn’t go camping enough either!
Camping is one of my most favorite things ever, and while I didn’t get to go this year (or last), seeing these pictures just felt nice because it conjures up so many happy memories. Camping is like magic somehow – fun, togetherness, relaxation, being with nature, just all awesome. Love the recipe.

I’ve never been camping for my birthday since it’s in January and usually there’s snow and all … no amount of liquid refreshment could get me to camp in snow… nuh-uh.
