We will open the book. Its pages are blank. We are going to put words on them ourselves. The book is called Opportunity and its first chapter is New Year’s Day

It’s New Year’s Eve and I don’t think I have ever been more ready for a year to be done and gone. 2008 can kiss off already. I am ready to bring on 2009. I thought about doing some retrospective cover of the last year with links and all….but I am at work, so no. We have some issues with our internet at home. As in AT(sux)T went down and we decided to switch to cable. But cable lines outside are bad so we “lose packets” and stuff. I have no idea what that means. I just know the internet she is a slow lady now. Supposedly within 10 days some one will dig up the old lines and put in new ones. New Year, new lines.

Last year was not without a few good points. After all, I gained a daughter-in-law and a home. But overall, it was a year of disappointments and disasters. I will consider it well gone and lessons learned.

I don’t do New Year’s resolutions, because I never remember to keep them, but I am resolved to get back into this journal and back to visiting all of you. For now I say to all of you:

I wish that your every dream for 2009 come true. That you find yourself surrounded by friends, laughter, and good times. I wish that your every cup runneth over financially, romantically, spiritually, and creatively. That good health be your faithful companion, peace your guarded ally, and love your perpetual guide.

Too, too busy to blog

You don’t stop laughing because you grow old, you grow old because you stopped laughing

  1. Happy New Year to you too. And thanks for the well wishes for 2009. I too hope they all come true. Right now I just want a healthy new granddaughter in March 2009. Beyond that I pray that God continues to bless me as he has throughout my life…even when I wasn’t paying attention. Good luck on your knitting too. I really enjoy it as a pasttime.

  2. I don’t make resolutions. I set goals. Sometimes they are small goals & sometimes they are huge. If I don’t reach them I try again the next year.

I hope you have a fabulous year. I wish you health & happiness in the New Year. I wish you peace in your soul.

The Happiest Of New Years to you my friend!!

“May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind always be at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
and rains fall soft upon your fields.
    And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand”.

  6. I’m with you! 2008 had it’s good points, but I’m more than ready for 2009 to get here and get going after everything that happened in ’08.

The only goal I have for 2009 is MORE. More writing, more reading, more workouts, more sleep, more laughter, more dancing, more singing, more journaling, more friendship, more sex, more spiritual growth, more love. Just More. Helps to keep it simple.

For 2009 may you laugh, may you learn, my you touch and be touched, may you cry when you need to and stand strong in all things, may you know your own worth and see the worth in others, may you find who you are and glimpse who you will become. May you be.

P.S. Email me sweety, I wanted to send you BloodSprite to read a few weeks ago but got a return on the email I tried to use for you. You still want to beta read for me right?
