Simply Not Enough On My Plate

I am obviously being sarcastic with that title. I am so busy lately, I don’t know whether I am coming or going. There is just so many little things I am working on right now, I need to add a few days to each week. Meanwhile, I thought I’d just give you a little Friday tease!

I really want to remodel my kitchen. I want to knock down the wall with the stove and fridge on it that separates the kitchen from the family room. I like to visit while I am cooking. And, boy-howdy, I do like to cook. I want to make that a half wall, with a counter on the family room side with some bar stools so the kids can sit there and visit with me while I whip up some of their favorite foods. But I also want to share my food with you, my friends!

Coming soon, I am going to share one of my favorite recipes (which includes the word scalloped in it-I am a sucker for anything scalloped) with you, while I do a review of  this Rachael Ray “Bubble & Brown” 3-Qt. Stoneware Baker . And almost as good as my recipe, is the fact that I will also be sponsoring a giveaway at the same time for this aweseme Rachael Ray Bubble and Brown 4-Piece 10 oz. Ramekin Set.

The giveaway will be sponsored by CSN Stores, and I am pretty excited to share with you!

You still have time (until Sunday midnight PST) to enter for the $25 Target gift card and goodies, just click here and comment!

Your remodeling idea sounds great. Dear and I were going over our footlong list of what all needs to be done to this old house and at times it’s just a tad overwhelming. We’ve said on many an occasion “do you think it would just be easier to tear it down and rebuild?” Anyway we’ll see what squeaks up to the top of the list the sewer or the retaining wall :0)
I love anything scalloped myself so I’ll look forward to that recipe!

Good idea with the half wall. I did it about twenty years ago and it was great. Only mine was in kitchen facing living room. Your idea sounds really good.

I love connected kitchens with living areas. It’s fun to be able to talk to people while you’re cooking, but it’s a pain when they’re under your feet. So a connected family room would be totally ideal.

I love love love the remodeling idea. I think that kitchens are really a warm space where everyone can connect and chat, so having a half wall and making the kitchen more accessible would be a great move. When I did sales demonstrations in people’s homes, we were trained to do our sales pitch while sitting at the kitchen table — because that’s where most people sit to pay their bills and whatnot (before paperless/online bill payment became huge) so they’re already going to be, innately, in the mindset to deal with money and finances.

I am looking forward to the recipe. I love to read recipes, whether I can convince my kids to eat them or not :) .
