I am thankful for the mess to clean after a party because it means I have been surrounded by friends

I am old-fashioned at heart: special occasion china and china cabinets excite me. I love creating holiday and special occasion meals. I adore the planning and the setting of the table. I even love wearing a holiday appropriate apron - that is how my apron business got started! I never worry too much, I just jump in and enjoy it. It always comes out in the end and I feel so accomplished. When I married, I started two china sets: one special occasion set and one Christmas set. I also have my paternal grandmother’s silver set from when she got married. They are my prized possessions. Through the years I have collected other special items to go with it. Turkey platters, holiday salt/pepper sets and this year I found this fantastic gravy server. The gravy comes out the bird’s beak, how awesome is that?! Behind it you may spy my impulse buy: pure spiced pumpkin butter, but we will get back to that in a moment.

Life happens and my family grew. And grew. And is still growing. My china service, however, stopped growing. As I aged so did my china patterns and, alas, both sets have been discontinued (thank heavens I haven’t been discontinued). I can fancily feed a mere eight people. Which when you like everything to be fancy, special and match? When presentation, presentation, presentation is all? It could be enough to make a hostess sad. Not anymore. This year I won’t have to let my lack of fancy place settings and serving items bring me down!

Mozaik is the perfect solution for those occasions when you don’t have enough dinner ware. For under $10, Mozaik’s new Service for Eight kit will help you stop scrambling for extra place settings when your guest list is larger than your china and flatware collection. The 40-piece “party in a box” adds eight place settings (forks, knives and spoons, salad plates and dinner plates) and is great for every holiday gathering from a small cocktail party to a large holiday buffet.

It fits in my budget! It matches my china! It fits my presentation! And? I don’t have to store it!!!! Win, win, win. Want proof your table’s appearance can by stylish when you use plastic? Remember my impulse buy in the top picture? The pure spiced pumpkin butter? I bought it because it sounded great. Sounding great is probably not a reason to buy something you have never heard of before, let alone tried. My question is this: If a person randomly purchased a jar of pure spiced pumpkin butter and didn’t know what it was….exactly what would a girl do with it? Ideas? Suggestions? Recipes? Each comment earns an entry. Bonus entries: ‘like’ ApronFrenzy on Facebook or follow me on twitter @ladybugsgrama. Leave a separate comment for each entry.
