Disney On Ice Toy Story 3 Giveaway

Last week, we took the girls ice skating for the first time. Ever since we attended Disney On Ice last year, the girls have been wanting to try it! First we warmed up D31 Artwith a little Mr. Potato Head decorating, then some off ice skating lessons and learned some dance moves and then onto the ice. What a fantastic time we all had and we can’t wait to try it again. The girls are even more excited to see Disney On Ice – Toy Story 3 next week! Ladybug was Buzz Lightyear for Halloween this year, that is how much she loves Toy Story.

We are attending the opening night show on the 25th, although we will be down at least one fan; as Mr. Vixen is having knee replacement surgery that day. After waiting all these years (in pain) for this day to come, when he found out it was on the same day as Disney On Ice, he informed me he wanted to postpone the surgery! That is how much fun we have t Disney On Ice.

Disney On Ice Toy Story 3 runs  January 25-29, 2012 at the Valley View Casino Center in San Diego. You can find information and ticket prices here. I think you should all attend and then write to Mr. Vixen and tell him all about it. It will almost be like he is there with us! In fact, I have a package of four tickets for one lucky family to attend that you can win right here! The vouchers must be exchanged at the box office for certain showings and some showings do sell out so you will want to exchange them fast!

Do you want to attend Disney On Ice Toy Story 3 for Mr. Vixen? Just enter below and one (1) random winner will be selected on January 19th (you can enter until midnight the 18th and I will draw the winner the morning of the 19th) and you could be at the show with Woody and the gang. Tickets are good for opening night Wednesday, January 25 at 7:00 pm or Thursday , January 26 at 7:00pm or Friday, January 27 at 11:00am

Did everyone check out my review below? I don’t always get so excited about things I review, but I certainly am about this one. I just can’t stop gazing at my lovely new canvas.

I started thinking last night about what a fantastic gift this would make for my mom and grandma! So personal, unique and beautiful. I am so in love with my canvas and the unlimited ideas that you can do with this, that I decided I have to share some more. With all of my readers and fellow bloggers.

Next week, I am lucky enough to be attending Blogher ’11 and chances are pretty good I will get to meet some of my dear online friends for realz in person! I can’t imagine that there won’t be tons and tons of pictures taken by everyone in attendance. Maybe there will be one real special connection you make that is immortalized by a photograph….wouldn’t it be great to turn that into an 8×10 canvas?

We are in the throws of a heat wave all across the country, so it must be summer! And summertime always results in tons of great pictures of family events, vacations and lovely scenery. Pick your favorite shot and transform it into a piece of art on canvas.

One lucky reader of mine is going to receive one custom 8×10″ canvas! Designed by you!

Not fond of (earwigs) bugs.

The RolyPoly is so very mobile now. He crawls everywhere and is walking with assistance. I think he could take a step or two on his own if he tried, but he doesn’t want to. He loves the attention.

Now that we have a very mobile child in the house 4-5 days a week, young Presto starting to roll over, combined with two new kittens, the existing three dogs and the busy little granddaughters I was reminded I need to continue my previous research into safe cleaning products to use around the house.

Enter EcoSMART a company dedicated to fighting bugs naturally. We spend a lot of time hanging out with the kids (and pets) out in the yard and camping, so I decided to try out the Safe Home Value Bundle for organic and natural home pest control. I may be a nature lover, but I have a (probably unnatural) hatred of earwigs bugs and I am always in need of the best mosquito repellent. I am anxiously awaiting it’s arrival and will let you know how it goes! Here is a a bit about EcoSMART:

Since EcoSMART’s proprietary botanical oil blends attack attributes that are specific only to pests, they have no effect on people, pets or the environment. The primary active ingredients in EcoSMART products are approved as Direct Food Additives or classified as GRAS (Generally Recognized As Safe) by the U.S. Food & Drug Administration. These oils are commonly used to add flavor and aroma to many cosmetic, beverage and food products, including cake, candy, sweetener, gum, soft drinks, and lipstick. Children and pets are safe. No need to clear them out after application or be concerned if they are near our products. Our products have no adverse effect on mammals, birds, and fish and also will not contaminate water sources.

I would love to give the chance for one of my readers to try out their safe products also. Just leave a comment about why you would like to go green and you will be entered to win your choice of any one of these bundles:

Safe Home Value Bundle
Safe Plant & Garden Value Bundle
Safe Picnic Value Bundle
Safe Patio Value Bundle

Winner will be chosen by random number drawing. Contest ends midnight PST February 15th 2011. Open only to US residents, except AK & HI. Entries must have a valid email address to be contacted if they win. I will be supplied one bundle to review at a later date. EcoSMART is supplying the winner’s bundle but all thoughts and opinions are mine.

The winner is Laura! Congrats!

I Can See Clearly Now…

One of the very first things I am going to do with my new health insurance coverage is get new glasses! Stronger, better, prettier glasses!

Meanwhile, I’ve been making due with my old grandchild abused scratched glasses. I can’t tell you how many times a day RolyPoly manages to grab them off my head. And his adorably grubby fingers make seeing through the lenses nearly impossible. I was pretty excited when I was offered some screen cleaner to review, but I received a Brilliant Lenses set instead.

This stuff is simply brilliant! What a tremendous difference it makes. Over the years, I have tried so many cleaners and my lenses were still always grimy, fuzzy and scratched. This stuff made my glasses almost like new! I can see again!

My laptop screen is even worse as RolyPoly gets to it even more often than he does my glasses. He apparently wants to start his own blog and twitter account. If the screen cleaning wipes work as well as the lens cleaning, someone’s laptop is going to look brilliant and be 50x more scratch resistant!

It’s giving and sharing week around here, so I am offering TWO lucky readers the chance to win some screen cleaners for themselves! To enter follow Brilliant Lens on facebook here and leave them a comment telling them I sent you! OR follow @brilliantlenses on twitter and tweet “Shine on and win Brilliant Screen Cleaning Wipes from @BrilliantLenses and @ladybugsgrama”

Winner will be chosen by random number generator. Contest open until midnight PST February 5th 2011.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers. I am disclosing this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commissions 16 CFR, Part 255 Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising. I had a couple crummy weeks, so I am gonna giveaway something

Ha, ha horrendous title, right? Well, I got nothing good to share. I have rants, vents, grumbles, issues and help to seek; but that shall wait. Today sucked. I am going to spend the evening trying to drown my troubles. How about some COOKIES?

(excuse the terrible segue)

Let’s have a cookie recipe swap. You tell me your favorite cookie recipe (we’ll pretend it’s still the holidays, how about that?) and when you share you will earn an entry to earn a “Happy Holiday Treats” prize pack that includes a package of Betty Crocker Sugar Cookie Mix, a GladWare sample pack and a $25 Safeway gift card (also valid at Dominick’s, Tom Thumb, Randalls, Vons, and Genuardi’s).

And The Winner Is…

I’d give you some great quote or incidence from the Oscar’s last night, but I didn’t see them! I was attending one of the best baby showers I’ve ever thrown. Well, tied with the last one. Which would be all two of the baby showers I’ve ever thrown.

Back the task at hand. Announcing the winner of the Wenchai Ferry giveaway (goodies and $25 giftcard to Target, remember?). There were 24 comments, one person asked not to be entered (#4). I plugged the numbers into’s number generator and…..

#15 Sue at Stay At Home Mom

Congratulations, Sue. Enjoy.

I may be back later with another post, as I learned to quilt this weekend and made RolyPoly my first ever quilt. And although may not be the highest quality of quilting, the A-DOR-A-BLEness of the material is enough to overcome all of that.

Simply Not Enough On My Plate

I am obviously being sarcastic with that title. I am so busy lately, I don’t know whether I am coming or going. There is just so many little things I am working on right now, I need to add a few days to each week. Meanwhile, I thought I’d just give you a little Friday tease!

I really want to remodel my kitchen. I want to knock down the wall with the stove and fridge on it that separates the kitchen from the family room. I like to visit while I am cooking. And, boy-howdy, I do like to cook. I want to make that a half wall, with a counter on the family room side with some bar stools so the kids can sit there and visit with me while I whip up some of their favorite foods. But I also want to share my food with you, my friends!

Coming soon, I am going to share one of my favorite recipes (which includes the word scalloped in it-I am a sucker for anything scalloped) with you, while I do a review of  this Rachael Ray “Bubble & Brown” 3-Qt. Stoneware Baker . And almost as good as my recipe, is the fact that I will also be sponsoring a giveaway at the same time for this aweseme Rachael Ray Bubble and Brown 4-Piece 10 oz. Ramekin Set.

The giveaway will be sponsored by CSN Stores, and I am pretty excited to share with you!

You still have time (until Sunday midnight PST) to enter for the $25 Target gift card and goodies, just click here and comment!

Since You Asked…

There is still time to go and enter for your chance to win a $25 gift certificate from Target along with some goodies here. You have until Sunday to enter! Many asked for my Fried Cream Cheese Wonton recipe and so here it is:

I combined:
1 package of cream cheese, softened
1 egg, beaten
1/2 to 1 tsp. onion powder (you can use chopped green onion if you family doesn’t hate “crunch
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 TBSP sugar
I then put a small amount of the cheese mixture in the center of the wonton wrapper. Wet the edges of the wrapper with a little bit of water. I folded them into triangles, and crimped up the two corners (like origami). Fry in oil until golden brown and drain on paper towels. Yum, yum, yummy.
There is a lot going on around here this week. I am crazy busy.
  • I am having a baby shower this Sunday! Funsize is 33 weeks today and I would be lying if I said I wasn’t a little uneasy about this time. Collin was born at 33 wks 4 days and the day before his shower was to happen. What happened was nothing they could have seen coming and there is no reason to believe it could happen again, but I am a bit on pins and needles. I just want to get through the next few weeks and celebrate with joy the arrival of my grandson. I pray daily and it seems to help keep me on an even keel for now.
  • My Medi-Cal was reinstated yesterday, so I am on the search for a surgeon. I want nothing more than to get better and find a job!!!!
  • I am working on a gift for the shower. And it’s something I have never tried before. I might be a little intimidated. But I have some online friends who are experts, so I have help if I need it.
  • I am having another giveaway next week.
  • It’s MARCH! How did that happen. St. Patrick’s Day is my 2nd favorite holiday. If you celebrate, you should head on over to ApronFrenzy and grab a Paddy’s Day apron (they are on SALE, $6 off) and they are just so much fun.
  • I want/need to write a hard-to-write post (I know, again?). It has to do with close knit communities, the tarnishing of a place where my kids/grandkids grew up, being part of a search team and the loss of a beautiful 17 year old young lady that should not have happened.
  • Did I mention there is a baby shower? I need to get on decorations and food. Gotta run!
