Shared joy is a double joy; shared sorrow is half sorrow.

I am feeling a little distracted and exhausted this week. But I don’t want my daughter to have to go another day without something posted on my blog. So I decided to go to twitter and look for a guest poster. And I got one! The ironic thing is, this post the the lovely ladies her first “private” post on her new private blog. She has some trouble with “letting it all out” on her regular blog. The irony is, I have been having the exact same problem here. Maybe that is why I haven’t posted anything in a while. But our community,it  is a wonderful place. So supportive and caring. So go give her some love over at Crazy Southern Mom’s World. Here is her first post (and my first guest post).

Hey there, ya’ll.  Yup, it’s a crazy time for me right now.  I have a teenager and two toddlers under the age of three.  I homeschool the teenager and raise chickens in our back yard.

This is what we will call a “private” blog.  I have another blog my husband and mom and other family members read.  I cannot be 100 percent honest on there, or even just let it all hang out.  I am what they call a deflector of conflict.  So, this blog, it will be my outlet for my crazy life moments.

Example.  The teenager.  OMG!!!  She would make the Dali Lama cuss up a red streak.  She’s lazy, and I just don’t know how to turn that around.  She thinks doing dishes equals time on the rack during the Spanish Inquisition.

Homeschooling has been a complete disaster because of this.  But I don’t want to give up on it, because we have discovered just how much the public school system hasn’t taught her in the last ten years.  But, we are close to not living up to the state allowance for her to be homeschooled *sigh*

The babies, I love them.  But right now, they are going through their age phases.  The one year old is a magnet to my legs, arms, clothing, etc.  If I am out of eye sight, it’s total meltdown.  This means not a lot gets done around the house.  The almost three year old is going through the testing of limits phase.  She is going to make me go completely mental before this is over.  And, even less gets done around the house than ever.

My husband is in IT at a local state government organization.  He comes home totally stressed out and exhausted, due to some huge projects that will not be done for at least another six months.  He does the dishes the teenager refuses to do each morning before he leaves for work.  He occassionally does laundry that I haven’t gotten to.  This, well, it makes me feel like a total loser and complete failure as a stay at home mom.

A little more background.  I have post partum depression.  I’ve been on Zoloft for the last year.  My prescription ended this month, but that’s ok, because it had stopped working a few months ago.  I am totally going mental here, folks.  I don’t know what to do.  I don’t sleep more than a four or five hours per day.  I argue constantly with the teenager.  The babies are stressing me so badly I’ve started to yell at them – this makes me even more depressed than I already was.

I worry about my mental state, currently.  Thus, the title Crazy World.

Ok, there is the beginning of the personal blog experience.  Let me know what you think…pretty, pretty please, with sugar on top.

Tell me what you like, what you don’t like, what you would like to see.  This is my frustration blog, but you are the ones having to read it and I am a total approval whore.

With A Little Help From My Friends

I have been very busy the last two days, whipping up some lovely, unique, handmade aprons for the upcoming holiday. There are five of them, each different and perfect for holiday parties or BBQs.

As many of you know (if not, you will now) I have been on unemployment since January and the job market is tough. We had planned a trip to Great Grandma’s cabin with all the kids/grandkids for some time. Great last saw Ladybug nearly 3 years ago and has never had the chance to meet young Butterball (who is almost two now). At 86 years of age and a double cancer survivor, she can’t travel. So it is my mission to take my kids and grandkids to see her for a few days (with a stop to see my Dad too). That is a lot of people I have to feed and care for. So this is where you come in and help me get some gas money.

Your mission is to go out and tell the world about ApronFrenzy! Have them run on over and take a look at these five fabulous, one-of-a-kind aprons. If they order by Monday, June 29th I will guarantee delivery by Friday July 3rd. Many of you have aprons from me already, I don’t need you to buy more. Just spread the word and help a girl out. Tell your blog friends, your sisters, your co-workers….people on the street! And a deeply felt thanks from me will wing its way to.

Beacons Of Light

Angela at Memoirs of A Chaotic Mommy created this lovely award and gifted it to me (she explains HERE.) I have spoke often about my blog community and what it means to me.

At a time when I was lost and afraid, you lifted me up with your love, support, prayers and thoughts. Each of you took a moment of your time to reach out to me those first few days. You did so whether you felt like you knew what to say or not. You put yourselves out there, for me. And I can’t begin to tell you how much it means to me. Thanks for shining your light my way. A great big thank you again to Angela, who may not have thought that I would spread the light so far and wide, but here goes:

Ellen B, Sandy, Claudia, Jessica, DJ, Lesley, Allie, Penelope Anne, Nononsense Girl, Marlee, Flo, Susan, Jenn, Anna, Karen, Maggie, Wacky Mommy, Lisa, Chris, Eaves, Betchai, Lisa, Mrs. B, Pam, Tina, Frigga, Stine, Winter, Ivanhoe, Mimi, Lee, Eric, Storyteller, Janice, Barb, Honey Mommy, Patsy, Lilacspecs and Angela right back at you!

People who don’t get this community may never understand, but I will say it anyway: Without you, I know I would not have been able to handle this as I have.Truly.

Now I must go rest my hands….the linkage: it’s hard work.

A Little Link Love

Last April (yes April!) I was mentioning how slow I am to respond to tags and memes, stating that I deserved a slow poke award. The lovely and talented Sassy Lucy aka Penelope Anne aka Momma Bear from Cafe At The END of the Universe instantly responded with some Slow Poke Awards for me! And then I took six months to share them with you.

Because I am a slow poke.PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket

Lisa, from MommyingOnTheFly tagged me with this one. Since I met Lisa through Entrecard, I think I will take this chance to share with you five new blogs I found through Entrecard that I really enjoy. It was hard to choose just five, so if I left you out it’s not because I don’t love you: I do. I will catch you next time, I promise.

Here’s the details that are passed along with this meme:
(Do not replace, just keep on adding! Yes we hope it will be a long list! )It’s real easy!

Little Sane Moments Of Time

I have doubts about my ability to hold it together often during the day. I am dealing well with my grief, but not my frustration and pain at having to watch my children suffer. I cannot imagine the depths of their feelings, except to guage the depth of my feelings at watching them. So I try to carry on.

Today, I am going to concentrate on the great depth of love, respect, caring and commradery to be found in this community we call the blogosphere. You and you and you (you all know who you are) have touched me and uplifted me in ways I cannot explain. Your comments, thoughts, perspectives, suggestions, prayers and blessings have been a God send. Additionally, a number of you have gifted me with awards of various kinds and for that I am also grateful. Now, on to the awards.

Decades A long while ago Maggie at Maggie’s Mind gifted me with the Arte y Pico Award. We had just recently discovered each other and I was touched by her noticing me, since she is such a great writer. Since then she has been a wealth of support and unconditional  love and for that and the award I am grateful. Thanks Maggie.

Next, Chuck over at Foster Me Up, gave away the Brillante Weblog and Super Commenter awards. This lovely, kind woman manages to come to my site even when she is ‘offline’ to leave hopeful, funny and kinds words. Her gift of friendship is what I am most grateful for and why I truly appreciated the next award she sent my way, the Perfect Blend of Friendship. Thanks Rhonda.

The new and rewarding friendships I have made here in the Den are something I never expected, but now I do not know how I could live without them. I have bonded with you, found common ground, shared ideas and support and generally just become dependent upon all of you. My dear and very supportive friend Penelope Ann at Cafe At The END of the Universe gifted me with the Blogging Friends Forever award and I am touched. I believe that we will remain friends for a good long time, blogs or not. Thanks Sassy One!

Another (new to me) friend is Lee at Tarheel Ramblings. He is such an intelligent gentleman, with an exceptional ability to put into words his thoughts and he takes THE most beautiful pictures. He says of the Million Dollar Friend Award: “A million dollar friend to me is someone who takes the time to get to know you on more than a superficial level. It is someone who is willing to put for the effort it takes to be a friend with no thought of what they’re going to get out of it.” Thanks Lee.

There is no way I could explain better what I have been trying to say in this entire post, than what he said there. Each of you have touched me, improved me, assisted me and the truth is I adore each and every one of you. So now I will take the terribly lazy easy a moment to bequeath upon each of you, who have been here through the good and bad times, all of these awards. Because, damnit, you deserve them. You really, really do.

Crying UNCLE

I have a new theme. I think. First I need you, ALL of you, to tell me what you think. I adored my old theme, it was very different. But it seemed lots of people found it hard to navigate. Tell me what you think in the comments okay?

Now for the ‘real’ help. Anyone know how to change the widths on this layout. It seems to me that the widget side is a little too wide and the posting side is a little too narrow. Does it appear that way to you? Can someone help me adjust them?

Don’t just leave me hanging here….tell me what you really think.

Independence Day

To all my friends in the US: Happy Fourth of July!

One of my online friends (Lesley) is expecting a baby soon and I am closely watching Twitter to see if Thundercats are goOOOOO. Not sure if this has been delivered to her yet (if it hasn’t yet Lesley turn your head), but I made this for her little Finn-to-be:
