SAN DIEGO — High temperature records were set throughout Southern California on a scorching spring Sunday — many in the same areas that also set records a day earlier, the National Weather Service said.
A high-pressure system that settled over the West Coast sent the temperature at the San Diego Wild Animal Park near Escondido soaring to 97 degrees, the highest for the day in 24 years.
What does the weather have to do with my mom’s impending visit, you ask? (glad you asked otherwise there is no point to this post). Historically (at least the 10 years I have resided in SoCal) when my mother comes to visit us in Sun Diego, the weather changes to crappy. It appears this visit will be no different. Just look at today’s forecast and tomorrow’s:
- Today: Plentiful sunshine. Not as warm. High 82F. Winds WSW at 5 to 10 mph.
- Tonight: Cloudy intervals. Low 49F. Winds SSW at 5 to 10 mph.
- Tomorrow: Sunshine along with some cloudy intervals. High 69F. Winds SW at 10 to 20 mph.
Note the significant change in temperature. Perhaps if she traveled to more places, she could reduce global warming.
