It does not require a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority keen to set brush fires in people’s minds ~Sam Adams

Escape from tyranny

It was called the revolution

DAR apron 009aThis is my latest, and probably most ambitious creation over at ApronFrenzy. I had a request for an apron for someone’s mom who is a member of the Daughter’s of the American Revolution. She asked for something “patriotic, ‘Williamsburg’ looking, and maybe embroidered.” When I went to the DAR page, I knew this material was perfect. Then I stretched the creative side of my brain, searched for colonial looking print and ended up free-handing the lettering then embroidering it. Do you think I caught the feel? If you want to see more or order your own custom apron, head on over to ApronFrenzy.

  3. First, before I forget, I love this template! I have it on my dot com blog, which I’m not currently using. And second, I love your poem you wrote for your grandbaby! She is a miracle and I offer up my thanks that she is here with you bringing you joys upon joys!

Your wonderful patriotic poem suits the theme for photo hunt, which is extra points, I believe! I have my tanka up for tomorrow’s One Single Impression prompt. If you’d care to participate, the OSI link is in my post. Any poetic form is welcomed! This week’s prompt is “listening”!

Your apron is too nice to cook with! I use to sew, and at times I miss it, but I have no room for my sewing studio anymore. I actually traded all my stash (which was quite considerable!) for an over-sized king sized quilt made by a friend. I’m still waiting for the shams!

I think it will just be spot on. Great picture of a wonderful apron. We don’t use aprons much any more but I have always thought we should make designer bibs… for eating out. Something to match your outfit or blend in so it isn’t so obvious. Then when we drop something on our fronts, as always happens, we can avoid the dry cleaning bill. Just an idea.

  16. Are you sure that’s how you spell “daughter”?

Gotcha! I know, I know it was mean but I couldn’t stop myself. My first thought was “man, wouldn’t it suck to get through all that and then realize…”.

Quite a challenge, I’m sure. But quite a creative solution to the problem.
